Who We Are

United Irish of Dayton

The United Irish of Dayton, Inc. strive to unite Irish groups in the greater Dayton area to promote the rich but often invisible historical and cultural heritage of the Irish people through education, service, charity, and community events.

The United Irish of Dayton, Inc. was founded in 1973 when independent Irish groups in the greater Dayton area came together to represent the country of Ireland at the first annual “World A’Fair.” We have remained an integral part of this three-day multi-cultural event. Beginning in 2002, with the help of Five Rivers MetroParks, we organized, promoted, and staffed the first United Irish of Dayton Celtic Festival where more than 25,000 people experienced the richness of Celtic culture. Today the United Irish of Dayton Celtic Festival is supported by over 500 volunteers and attracts over 90,000 attendees the last weekend of July each year to Riverscape MetroPark in downtown Dayton.
